About me

Engineer, science communicator and STEM advocate focused on optics and photonics

Professional Career

I recently earned my PhD in Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, where I also completed my Master’s degree in Engineering. I previously obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics from the Universidad Politécnica de Victoria.

My research focuses on photonic instrumentation, particularly fiber optic sensors and luminescent materials, for biomedical and related applications. My goal is to develop fiber-in-lab sensing technologies as solutions to current social challenges in bio-related fields, such as monitoring cellular proliferation in cancerous tissue.

Scientific Outreach

I am passionate about bridging the gap between science, technology, and the general public. I am especially committed to inspiring children and young people to pursue careers in these fields. To this end, I actively organize and participate in scientific outreach activities, with a focus on optics, photonics, and related disciplines.

Additionally, I strongly believe in the power of professional networks and the importance of building them from the early stages of one’s career. Therefore, I also contribute to the organization of events focused on connecting people and fostering professional networks among students.
